Lt. Torrey H. Webb, Army aviator, made first trip with 272 pounds of mail destined for Boston, June 7, 1918.  Made landing at small town in Connecticut to adjust compass.  Remainder of flight to Boston uneventful.  When landing at Saugus, Mass., just outside of Boston, the plane nosed over in soft earth, throwing Webb and mechanic from their seats, uninjured.  Trip took three hours and twenty-two minutes.
